The rules. In plain English.

Human Machine Studio is a new, independent web design studio. You can reach us at hello@humanmachinestudio.com. By using this website or commissioning work, you agree to these terms.

Prices generated on our pricing page are estimates, not binding offers. A project starts only once we have confirmed the scope, price and timeline with you in writing (email counts).

We build what the agreed scope describes. Requests outside that scope are welcome, but we will quote them separately before doing the work. No surprise invoices.

You can pay the full price once, or in three monthly payments that add up to exactly the same total. No interest, no instalment fees.

The first payment is due before work starts. If a payment is more than 14 days late, we may pause work until it is settled.

Each project includes the revision rounds stated in your agreed scope. Further rounds, or changes that alter the agreed scope, are quoted separately.

Human artists lead art direction, design and final review. We use AI tools to accelerate development, drafting and testing. Every piece of delivered work is checked by a person before it reaches you.

You are responsible for the text, images, logos and other material you give us, and for having the right to use them. We will not knowingly publish content that breaks the law.

Once the project is paid in full, you own the final design, code and assets we made for you. We may keep using general techniques, tools and know-how. Third-party items (fonts, stock images, plugins) stay under their own licences.

Unless you ask us not to, we may show the finished work in our portfolio and studio previews. Tell us in writing if you want it kept private.

Either side can end a project with written notice. You pay for work completed up to that point; we hand over everything that has been paid for.

We do careful work, but we cannot guarantee a website will be error-free, always online, or produce specific business results. Our total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid us for it.

Hosting, domains and outside services are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages or policy changes.

We may update these terms. The version in force when you agreed your project scope applies to that project.
